September 2013 SLP Link Up

This year, September meant a new school for me!

School-ing: new students! I have a brand new (to me) caseload, so I'll soon be having fun learning new names and goals. I can't wait to find out what makes my students tick.

Excited: I love all things pumpkin when fall rolls around. Pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread. I love to bake, so these tend to show up quite a lot!

Prepping: I don't have a real therapy room, so I'm needing to rethink my therapy strategy. I want grab and go things, so that I can stay on schedule. 

Trying: more push in. My school this year likes inclusion, so I'll be pushing into the classroom a lot more than I have in the past. I'm excited about the possibility of co-teaching and getting creative with how I work in speech/language goals!

August SLP Link Up

August means back to school for a lot of states! What am I doing?

Buying: Organization items! Why?! I will be starting a new school based job! I'm not sure what my room will look like (or if I'll have one), so I have to wait for a bit to scope out the scene and then go out to buy some of the bigger things. For now, I'm organizing myself by sorting through my materials, books, etc. I also need to buy staples like pens, a planner, and other office type things.

Trying: to soak up as much summer as possible! This is a no brainer. Soon, my brain will be filled with IEP dates, goals, teachers' names, and other information. I love summer weather, so I am trying to be outside as much as possible.

Speeching: Super Duper Publications. Need I say more? They are trying out some new deals lately. Super Duper is always a go-to for materials! They usually change out the deals weekly too.

State of Mind: Excited! Spring is here and I'm making some life changes in the next few months that I'm really excited about!! More about that later. I just love spring, because it means summer is just around the corner!

Loving: Blogging. I started in November of 2012 and have truly enjoyed this new venture. The SLP community is so supportive that it makes me proud to be a part of it!
